I guess Vertu is no big business fot Nokia in terms of turnover or profit. If not for money maybe for the media? Those 18 Carat yellow or white gold phones with diamonds get a lot of media attention!
According to Torres Vertu´s business is improving an Vertu sells "tens of thousands" of phones yearly. Vertu has 250 employees and according to Torres they will soon be 300.
Vertu now operates in 40 countries and sells phones in 400 locations. Vertu is also expanding to the Nordic countries this year, starting with Denmark. Within two years the company will also open stores in Latin America and Japan.
