Nokia N93 Review

The Nokia N93 is Nokia´s new camera phone flagship and a device for video recording. The Nokia N93 features a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, DVD-like video capture at 30 frames per second, and 3x optical zoom. This is a Triband EDGE/GSM 900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 2100 MHz phone.

The N93 features large internal memory of up to 50 MB, which can be further expanded with a hot swap miniSD card of up to 2 GB, allowing users to capture up to 90 minutes of DVD-like quality video or close to 2500 pictures.

The N93 is expected to be available from July 2006, in three colours: silver grey/deep plum, frost white/metallic red and frost white/mocha brown.

Nokia N93 Camera
The Nokia N73 has a 3.2 megapixel (2048 x 1536) Carl Zeiss optics camera. The camera has a mechanical shutter, integrated flash, autofocus and a 20x digital Zoom.

Video records (640x480) in RealMedia, MPEG-4 AVC & 3GPP, has a 3x optical zoom and captures up to 30 frames per second with video stabilization.

Video playback: MPEG-4 VGA (640x480) at 30 fps (frames per second) and H.263/3GPP, H.264/AVC, RealVideo at CIF (352 x 288) at 15fps. You can rip CDs and transfer music to Nokia N93 using the free Nokia Music Manager PC software.

MobileWhack writes that

consumers can look forward to DVD-like video capture, and later view it on a standard television thanks to the TV-out option. The bundled Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 software will further assist in burning your high-quality home videos onto DVDs. This is virtually a camcorder with a phone attached. Videos can be captured in MPEG4 format at 30 fps.

We say: The N93 video quality is good or excellent for a cell phone, but you cannot say that the N93 is a camcorder with a phone. This is sales talk!

This device has WLAN 802.11, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, IrDA (Infrared) and TV out support.
