Report: Nokia Audiocast: Nokia 3250

Kai Öistämö Senior Vice President OF Nokia Mobile Phones, hosted an audiocast for members OF the media to discuss the Nokia 3250 and the Nokia XpressMusic feature brand. Here´s a summary OF the audiocast.
The audiocast did not reveal anything on top of things mentioned in the press release and there were only a few questions asked by the media. Anyway, here´s the summary.
Kari Öistämö started his presentation by saying that the launch of the Nokia 3250 was in line with the company´s current music phone strategy and that he was excited by the "twist" function of the phone. Turn the phone 90 degrees and it turns into a digital camera and another twist of 90 degrees "and voila" you have a music player, Kari explained. After this the other basic features of the phone were explained.
When the presentation was over it was time for the media to ask questions. I think there were 3 whole questions by e-mail and one telephone call. The only interesting question, about the Nokia 3250 vs Motorola´s Rokr, was very diplomatically answered. Kari said he hadn´t playd with the Motorola Rokr that much and continued saying that both phones were good representatives for the music phone trend. Then he said things that could be read betwen the lines or that:
- Nokia has faster tranfer (USB 2.0 vs Motorola´s USB 1.1)
- The Nokia stores more songs (up to 750 vs Motorola´s 100)
- Nokia supports more audio formats (MP3, M4A, WMA, AAC AND eAAC+ formats vs MP3 AND AAC)
- Easy access to OTA(over-the-air) music downloads
Explained:
- WITH the Motorola USB 1.1 it can take up to 40 mins. TO transfer 100 songs
- Apple has limited the ROKR's iTunes music capacity TO 100 songs
- Rokr itunes doesn´t support OTA download WITH ALL operators *
